Bottomless Pit (2016) Review

1. Giving bad people good ideas- I’ve actually heard this song a long time ago and really liked it. It’s a little overwhelming, I feared the instrumental overwhelming the lyrics. Still I like it a lot. 7/10

2. Hot head- liked almost immediately I really love how expressive this song is. The contrasts created in this song are addicting. It’s like anticipation and satisfaction all at once. pacing is great 8.5/10

3. Spikes- okay… hmmm… hmm… oh. Hm interesting… it feels heavier, I can’t tell if I like it or not. “Noise of nomads on sapphire spikes”, cool! 6/10

4. Warping- I’m obsessed with this sound. “Destitution ramped desiccated satyr” like what!! Crazy, not the biggest fan of the chorus, but it makes up for sounding crazy. 6/10

5. Eh- wait this is so fun and silly. I like this one. I however do NOT love the vocals here. I understand (I think?) the dynamic but doesn’t mean I have to like it! Pacing also a little weird I think? 4/10

6. Bubbles buried- okay wait it’s slaying maybe… no the repetition is starting to get to me. Once again I like the noise but i feel like this song has a little unfulfilled potential- idk how I just feel it in my brain. 5/10

7. Trash- okay wait fun. I love the intros to so many of these songs then I feel like the song ends up being more abrasive than I expect. HOWEVER THIS SOUND FULFILLS THIS feeling mostly. Like I just be uploading trash fr. 7/10

8. Houdini- okay wait I really like these vocals with these instrumentals. The weight of this song is nice and I welcome the straight up dialogue. Like get it I guess 8/10

9. BB poison- idk this one feels weird- like he’s guessing the lyrics. I don’t know the beats off. The lyrics read like a Reddit post. I keep thinking I’m liking it but then like. Do I really ? The answer is 4/10

10. Three bedrooms- I really quite like this, I am addicted to the lyrics here. It’s catchy and I <3 the production. When he said “I foghorn devils jelly” I felt that 8/10

11. Ring a bell- I like the depth- OMG. Okay yeah I do like this one haha. This sound is so fulfilling and the instrumentals compliment the vocals so well. I am a fan of this one for sure. 8.5/10

12. 80808- slaying chilling vibes okay fun. This song feels a little out of place but I’ll allow it because I’m enjoying it. I can’t say it’s anything crazy but it establishes a cool mood. It’s good, I like how rhythmic is it. 7/10

13. Bottomless pit- my initial impression is not to like it. But I really like general noisiness of it. I feel the opposite to the three bedrooms, I’m liking the general electropubk more than the lyrics 6/10

Overall: it slayed, I honestly liked it more than I expected but there were some areas where I feel like the songs didn’t match the overall layout of the album. I do like thought that it at least created a depth that extends between songs. I like it. Will listen to again
